Lifeline Program
Save on Your Monthly Phone or Internet Bill
Intermax Networks is committed to keeping our community connected. If you're looking for help affording phone or internet service, the federal Lifeline program may be able to help.
What Is Lifeline?
Lifeline is a federal benefit program that lowers the monthly cost of phone or internet service for qualifying households. It’s administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) with oversight from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) — it is a government assistance program, not an Intermax Networks program.
- Standard Benefit: Up to $9.25/month discount on phone, internet, or bundled service
- Enhanced Tribal Benefit: Up to $34.25/month discount for those living on qualifying Tribal lands
Do You Qualify?
You may qualify for Lifeline based on either your household income or your participation in a qualifying government assistance program, such as:
- SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
- Medicaid
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Federal Public Housing Assistance
- Veterans Pension or Survivors Benefit
- Or if your household income is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
Full eligibility details are available at lifelinesupport.org/how-to-qualify.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I qualify?
You may qualify if you, your child, or a dependent participates in a program like SNAP or Medicaid, or if your household income meets the federal guideline. See full details at lifelinesupport.org/how-to-qualify.
Can I switch my Lifeline benefit to Intermax Networks?
Yes. You can transfer your Lifeline benefit to a new provider once per month. Contact us and we’ll help you complete the transfer.
Do I need to reapply every year?
Yes. Lifeline requires annual recertification to confirm continued eligibility. If you miss the deadline, your benefit — and possibly your service — may be affected.
Important Program Disclosures
Please read the following before applying:
- Lifeline is a federal government benefit program. It is not provided, funded, or guaranteed by Intermax Networks — Intermax Networks is simply a participating provider that may apply the Lifeline discount to an eligible customer’s account.
- Lifeline is non-transferable. Only eligible consumers may enroll, and it is a violation of federal law to sell, rent, or give away a Lifeline benefit to another person.
- Only one Lifeline benefit is available per household — not per person. A household cannot receive Lifeline discounts on more than one service or from more than one provider at the same time. Violating this rule may result in de-enrollment from the program.
- A household is defined as any individual or group of individuals who live at the same address and share income and expenses.
- Eligibility is verified through the National Verifier, the National Lifeline Accountability Database, or an approved state alternative (Oregon and Texas).
- Willfully making a false statement to obtain the Lifeline benefit is punishable by fine, imprisonment, de-enrollment, and/or being barred from the program.
- This page is intended as an informational resource. For official rules, applications, and the most current program details, visit the official Lifeline website at lifelinesupport.org.
Intermax Networks makes no guarantee of Lifeline approval. Final eligibility determinations are made solely by USAC/the National Verifier or applicable state administrator.
