Planes, Trains and ... Love?
Steve Martin and John Candy have nothing on Intermax. In January we solved some pretty major transportation-related issues that prevented service delivery to both present and future customers. And one customer even shared how his improved connection also improved his marriage… but your mileage may vary. Severe weather and major trans-continental shipping lines can’t stop our teams!
Planes (well, Helicopters)
It’s just another day at the office for our tower team, who went full action-movie mode and took a helicopter ride to the top of St. Joe Baldy. Their mission? De-icing a wireless tower that was practically frozen solid. Because when extreme weather tries to take down your internet, we fight back—literally.
This wasn’t just a little frost—it was a full-on icy fortress. But thanks to our fearless team, the tower was cleared, and customer connections stayed strong. And don’t worry. We captured the whole adventure in a video montage that you can check out above. Please, don’t tell them how cool they look. They already know.
Trains
Not to be outdone, the fiber teams drilled under the live tracks of the BNSF Railroad at McGuire Rd to get fiber to neighborhoods on the other side. This was no typical “dig a hole” situation. This was serious precision work occurring on a highly secure site while tons of transcontinental freight roared through uninterrupted above. Check out the awesome drone footage above.
Why does this matter? Because this kind of effort is what it takes to bring high-speed fiber to areas that need it most. No shortcuts, no easy routes, just real investment in keeping our communities connected.
Love
We never thought that thawing towers would lead to thawing hearts, but one lucky Intermax husband shared how his improved connection “improved his connection.”
You deserve reliable, high-speed internet—and we’re willing to dig, fly, and freeze our butts off to make it happen. That’s the Intermax way. We’ll be back next month with another update, and in the meantime, check out the videos—we promise, they’re worth a watch!
