  • The bore under the railroad tracks is complete! We’ll be completing our connection work within the BNSF right-of-way in the middle of March, which means we can start lighting up previously inaccessible areas to the west.

FIXED WIRELESS UPDATES

Fast, affordable, no hidden fees. Learn how to upgrade today!

Schweitzer Mountain Failover: Extreme weather on March 13 took down the primary path between the Schweitzer Mountain tower and Schweitzer Village. One customer painted the scene as follows: “I just came down from Schweitzer. Huge winds and snow.  Bus went off the road coming down. Mountain lifts all shut down” As intended, the Intermax network failed over to a backup path and customers stayed up and running!

Rose Lake, Killarney, and Best Hill Upgrades: The network engineering team upgraded these towers to a new software version to improve stability.

Hope/Sentz Upgrade: The Intermax network gathers all local area traffic up and sends it to the main Internet over a single high-speed connection called a backhaul. Last month we upgraded the backhaul between Hope and Sentz from 200 Mbps to 1 Gigabit, preventing bottlenecks for existing customers and preparing for more traffic this year.

Reservoir Backhaul Upgrade: Wintertime weather drove the older existing backhaul equipment to its knees – and customers were feeling it. The team made an emergency upgrade to new gear including a backup channel which will help survive future storms.

Canfield: Over the last few months we’ve been running fiber up to the top of Canfield Butte, making that tower more resistant to electromagnetic radiation interference. This month the tower hardware was upgraded to take advantage of this new connection, improving the performance and quality of service for hundreds of customers in the surrounding service area.
