What is fixed wireless technology?
Intermax fixed wireless technology sends wireless signals from nearby mountaintop radio towers down to an antenna on or near your house. Fixed wireless uses different spectrums of microwaves in focused beams to create an internet link. Microwave is just a lower spectrum of light we cannot see, and in fact all internet technology connections from DSL, Cable, Satellite, and Fiber are using different spectrums of light outside the visible spectrum, at different amplitudes to provide media conversion from its protocol, back to internet. DSL, Cable, and Fiber run over or inside of a cable made of copper or glass. Fixed wireless is through the air, which means versatility, and also, it’s easier to repair and provide redundancy via back up links we program into your receiver.
How fast is fixed wireless?
Our speeds vary by geographic location and terrain. However, Intermax download speeds range from a minimum of 25Mbps to more than 800Mbps. Our technology is top-of-the-line and state-of-the-art, giving our customers extremely low latency and the best technology experience possible.

Who services Intermax fixed wireless and can I get help when I need it?
We do! We’re headquartered in Coeur d’Alene and customers rave about our local support teams. You may have seen our installation teams busy working in your neighborhood. Can you help me optimize my home network and all of my devices?
Yes. We won’t leave the installation until you are connected and running strong. We recommend adding an Intermax router to your subscription to include security and network management tools that let us help keep you and your family up and running safely. What if I don’t know anything about subscription streaming services?
We’ll help! Our installers don’t leave until you are satisfied. We get you set up with new ways to use your new Intermax to watch TV, movies, and sports over the Internet on all the devices in your house, so you can get what you want when you want. Really!
What if I have Dish, DirecTV, or Starlink?
Replacing satellite internet with Intermax means no contracts, data caps, buffering, or surprise fees. The performance is constant, steady, and solid for both uploads and downloads, so you can sync those high-res vacation photos and videos without prompting shouts from another room. In addition, you can choose your favorite streaming content provider(s) and pay only for content you want instead of fixed packages with channels you never watch.
What can I do with a fixed wireless connection?
With a fixed wireless connection, our customers can stream TV and movies, game online, and work from home, seamlessly without buffering. The internet experience using our service in rural areas is the best available, beating most of our competitors.
How does installation work on my property?
Generally, it works like this: The technician will call you before arriving. When they show up, they will test to confirm service standards and stability, then plan with you where the receiver needs to go on your house and where to bring cable inside based on receiver positioning. The cable from the receiver will enter an outer wall next to a power outlet. The tech will then begin installation, which takes 1-2 hours, depending on the scope of work involved. After installation, the technician will help you set up your WiFi and assist with any questions you might have.
Does fixed wireless work for gaming?
YES. Gaming subscriptions and content like Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Plus, and Amazon Luna all run beautifully with fixed wireless. In fact, a device might be able to run on our network out to the internet faster than to another device inside your own home network!
What if I already have a streaming service?
That’s great! Existing accounts with providers like HBO Max, Peacock, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Fubo, ESPN, or Disney+ will work seamlessly with our service. And you can always add or subtract content providers with no Internet service fees or price changes. Bring on the watch parties!
What if I have Spectrum or TDS?
