From Our CEO: Celebrating 2024 and the Connections We’ve Built Together
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It’s been an amazing year for rural connectivity, and we couldn’t do this without YOU. The Intermax team remains committed to keeping our friends and neighbors connected while delivering an unbeatable customer experience. This year, we reached major milestones, delivering brand-new fiber service areas, improving and adding new services for remote areas, and enhancing safety and control for your home networks.
New Fiber and Fixed Wireless Service Areas
First, fiber-optic internet began rolling out to over 5,000 homes across Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington, and we’re just getting started! These homes now have access to top-quality, locally supported connectivity for remote work, telehealth, family bonding, and entertainment uses.

Watch for the new fiber splicing trailer rolling through your neighborhood this winter (and say hi, or upload a selfie!). Our team members use it to stay out of the weather while they fuse the glass fiber optic cables together and connect the last miles. Even through the coldest months, we’re pushing to bring new customers online with better internet.
Remote areas gained new access to high-speed broadband as well. New fixed wireless towers launched in Rose Lake, ID, and in Spangle, WA. Hundreds of families in areas long overlooked by traditional providers are now connected, and we’re proud to welcome these folks to Intermax.

Finally, existing customers saw significant service improvements too. Thanks to constant advances in radio technology and Intermax equipment investments, speeds doubled for many of you at no additional cost. We believe that fairly priced and highly performant broadband is a right, not a privilege.
More Tools for Consumer Home Networks
In March, we introduced two exciting features for customers who use our Calix routers in their homes and businesses — ProtectIQ and ExperienceIQ. These tools give you more control than ever before and include enhanced security and smart options to manage your family’s internet usage. Whether you’re keeping the kids off TikTok during homework time or protecting your network from cyber threats, we’ve got you covered.
A Major Upgrade for Commercial Managed Services Customers
Small and medium businesses are the backbone of local economies. Intermax takes care of computer networks and telephone systems for local pillars like Knudtsen Chevrolet, BankCDA, and Spokane International Airport. In 2024, we finished rolling out a new multi-layer defense-in-depth cybersecurity approach for all managed service customers. These firms may now deliver goods and services with more confidence in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
Looking Ahead
Every tower we build, every fiber line we splice, every phone line we connect, every business network we protect, and every feature we roll out is rooted in empowering our friends and neighbors. We all live here because we love it here and refuse to compromise on quality of life – including technology. I remain deeply grateful for the over 25 years of trust you’ve placed in Intermax.
